Join the Minnetrista Horticulture team for a special volunteer day to help maintain and grow our lively gardens! Volunteers will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of garden cultivation alongside our professional staff. Whether cleaning and preparing soil for future seeds or digging and planting, there’s always plenty of work to be done!

Calling all budding artists! Join us for a Bob Ross Painting Workshop designed just for you. Participants will learn step-by-step how to create beautiful landscapes in Bob Ross' signature style. Bob Ross once said, "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." This workshop is all about having fun and trying new things.

 For young artists 11 –13 years old. The workshop includes one 8x13 painting, access to the Bob Ross Gallery, and a visit to the Bob Ross Experience for the participant. All supplies are included. Did you know we have a tropical rainforest right here in Muncie, Indiana, at Ball State University's Rinard Orchid Greenhouse? Join us at this Tea & Talk to learn about North America's most extensive collegiate orchid collection with the guidance of their knowledgeable Environmental Educator, Erica Oliver. This presentation will delve into the orchid collection's history, including its origins, and showcase the unique characteristics that define orchids. Additionally, you'll receive an update on their recent expansion.

Arts and crafts have never been so fun! Create a magical home for your faerie friends in an imaginative, family workshop. You can create a one-of-a-kind wonderland masterpiece using an array of bright colors, patterns, and textures.

During this multi-day event, children are encouraged to come dressed in their best magical faerie attire as they imagine and play in a magical faerie wonderland. Families can enjoy games, crafts, a theater show, live music and dancing, a bubble garden, and more throughout our enchanted Oakhurst Gardens.

The Sensory-friendly event is designed to welcome our Faerie friends with sensory sensitives or disabilities to the Oakhurst Gardens to experience the magic in a calmer and welcoming environment. Join us for some quiet music, an optional live theatre show, and character interactions, or just take a stroll through the beautiful flowers and decorations.

Have you ever wondered what Minnetrista collects or why? Join Collections Manager Mindy Price as she explains the process of collecting historical objects at Minnetrista. To understand how the museum obtains, displays, and cares for its collection, attendees will get an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the exhibit Collecting Community, now on display in Minnetrista's Heritage Gallery. Attendees will have time to explore the exhibit, ask questions, and even see some objects not currently on display!

Paint with a Certified Ross Instructor on the site where Bob painted for years. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to get creative and learn the process of painting in Bob Ross’ signature style. Just bring yourself, and we will provide everything you need to have a great time. Just like Bob said, “Let’s get crazy!”

Bob Ross Painting Workshops are 14 & up unless otherwise noted. All supplies are included. Everyone in attendance must be registered for the workshop, and The Bob Ross Experience ticket is not included. This workshop space is only accessible via a staircase.
