Location: Muncie Makes Lab, 628 S. Walnut Street, near the roundabout south of downtown.
Printer Jam is a student organized event that started as a living room print show and has evolved into an exciting "JAM" in the form of a downtown Muncie Arts event involving a collaboration of over 33 different printmakers, poets and musicians.
Events:
6 pm Art Exhibition and Reception (catering by Seasalt & Cinnamon)
7 pm Artist talk by Nate Russell, a printmaking, muralist, illustrator, and sculptor
8:30 Spoken word poetry
9:15 Live music by Kevin Krauter and The University QuintetAnyone looking for an exciting mix of the arts will enjoy Printer Jam!

Facing LGBTQ+ Pride: A Facing Project Book Launch & Performance

From the page to the stage, 23 stories that celebrate the lives of LGBTQ Muncie residents, and their allies, will be brought to life by actors on June 30th at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
The show begins at 6:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:00. This will be the second Facing Project Event of 2018, following Facing Teaching, and accompanies the publication of Facing LGBTQ+ Pride in Delaware County. All attendees will receive a free copy of the book.
Aside from the performances and book launch, the event will include concessions and vendors such as Queer Chocolatier, Muncie OUTreach, and the East Central Indiana Trans Alliance.
Tickets are FREE and can be reserved online at give.classy.org/facingpride.
Facing LGBTQ+ Pride is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County, Cornerstone Center for the Arts, the Muncie Human Rights Commission, the City of Muncie, Muncie OUTreach, R.A.C.E. The Facing Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects people through stories to strengthen communities. Founded in Muncie, Indiana, by J.R. Jamison and Kelsey Timmerman, the organization has connected writers, storytellers, artists, educators, and community leaders in over 75 communities across the country. Hailed by The Huffington Post, Harlem World Magazine, and Soul Train as one of three oral history projects to watch, The Facing Project provides a model, tools, coaching, and a platform for communities to arm themselves with stories to begin crucial conversations—neighbor to neighbor, community to community—by discussing solutions and exploring healing through their own narratives.

The 2nd annual A Midsummer Night’s Narrative Storytelling Festival will feature 8 storytelling teams that will each share local stories of unity. Actors from Muncie Civic Theatre will bring the stories to life on stage at MadJax. The festival will include a Writers Fair where writers will chat on select topics, read from their work, and sell their books. Facing Project cofounder Kelsey Timmerman’s new book WHERE AM I GIVING? will also be available at the event.

Ball State University Honors College students participate for the second time in Forbidden Sounds, Music of the Holocaust; a concert honoring the music of composers who died or whose music was banned during 1933-1945, and the historical events of the Holocaust. The concert features music by composers such as: Erwin Schulhoff, Pavel Haas, Gideon Klein, Ilse Weber, Bedřich Smetana, music from Buchenwald and Dachau camps. In addition, Zita Nurok's short story A House with Stories to Tell, along with excerpts from The Book Thief will be read. Performers include Honors College Students Cassie Buescher, Wesley Byers, Devon Lejman, ChiChi Nnatubeugo, Drew Tomasik, Lydia Wiseheart, Sam Turk and Arianna Zielinski with their professor Dr. Galit Gertsenzon on piano and guest musicians: Rebecca Braun, Mezzo-Soprano and Prof. Emeritus George Wolfe on the Saxophone.
