The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar's wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph's gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh (wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis), Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognize. After testing their integrity, Joseph reveals himself leading to a heartfelt reconciliation of the sons of Israel. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

The start of a new year is the perfect time to begin a new hobby! Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ Monthly Dance Club is a great way to have fun with friends, or to make new friends, while enjoying ballroom, Latin, and swing dancing.

Join David Fennig, Cornerstone dance instructor and director of the Harmony Dance Group, for this monthly social event which will meet on January 21 and February 4 at 7 p.m. Each evening will include an hour of dance lessons followed by two to three hours of open dancing. This social dance event is perfect for couples, groups of friends, or individuals looking for a fun way to spend their Saturday evening. No partner or previous experience is necessary.

Admission for the Monthly Dance Club is $12 per person and $8 for students and children ages 10 and up. No pre-registration is required. Proceeds from the Monthly Dance Club will benefit Cornerstone’s arts program and scholarship fund.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Shafer Leadership Academy, and Harmony Dance Group will partner this spring for a unique leadership workshop through tango dancing. The workshop titled, Movement: Exploring leadership through the art of tango, will be on Tuesday, February 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Center for the Arts in the Grand Hall.

This three-hour long program is designed to increase an individual’s understanding of leadership, following, and two way communications through the use of tango dancing as a metaphor and teaching tool. The workshop is not a dance class but a lesson in leadership through the fundamentals of the art form. Participants will leave with a better concept of leadership which they can apply to their business and personal lives.

In addition, participants will walk away with a clear understanding of the difference between management and leadership, a recognition of the two-way nature of communication in all forms of leader and follower connections, tools to diagnose breakdowns in communication between leaders and followers, and active advice on how to re-establish trust and confidence in team members and to build up communication within a group.

This workshop is open to anyone seeking to improve their personal and business relationships. The workshop is $25 per person to attend and is limited to 20 participants.
