Join us for the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in the heart of Downtown Muncie on Monday, April 8, 2024! We will begin gathering @ 1:00pm (weather permitting) within the circle of Canan Commons, 500 South Walnut Street. Totality will occur @ 3:09pm, plunging those in the line of totality into total darkness for nearly 4 minutes! As the celestial bodies align, we invite you to witness the breathtaking spectacle surrounded by the ambiance of Canan Commons, Muncie's lovely Downtown greenspace and amphitheater!

Our DWNTWN neighbors will be having specials all day, so make plans beforehand to have lunch, dinner, or drinks at one of our many restaurants and bars. You can shop with our retailers and get your Eclipse keepsakes too!

Event Highlights:

Eclipse Viewing: Meet at Canan Commons starting at 1 pm, Totality will occur @ 3:09 pm.

Unwind: Bring your yoga mat or blanket, viewing glasses, hydration, crystals or stones to recharge during the Eclipse.

Live music: There will be live soothing music, bring an instrument, even if it is only your voice. Immerse yourself in the melodies that will elevate your Eclipse experience!

Steven Spielberg set his film Close Encounters of the Third Kind in Muncie Indiana. Gordy is supporting an effort to place a large scale bronze sculpture of the Devil's Tower in Muncie as a public landmark on the 50th Anniversary of the movie in 2027!

Pete Davis opens at 5:30 and Perfect Strangers starts at 6:30!  This will be another night of fantastic local music in our historic space.

AppeThai and chef Noon will be doing live cooking out front on Main St.  Stop by and order one of their new teas and to hear her story! Noon just back from a visit home to Thailand and she has some new dishes and drinks for you to try!

Blessed Wiccs Candle Bar is still being finished up but you can get a sneak peak and see how the old "Biscuit Bar" going back to the great depression, from the 1930s to the early 2000s is being brought back to life by respecting it's history.  She'll have retail candles and candle bar sessions!

The flower locations you will be traveling to are indicated on your ticket, plus a DWNTWN Summer Events schedule you will want to hang on your fridge when you are done! Gather your flowers at your leisure in any order you desire while enjoying the other aspects of ArtsWalk until 7:30pm.

We're open until 8:30 and it only takes about 20 minutes, so come by after Arts Walk and make something special with us while supplies last.
