 TubaChristmas is a tradition shared in countries the world over. It's when tuba (& other low brass) players get together to create and share Christmas tunes with the holiday crowd - wherever they are.

In Muncie, this Christmas-only group is sponsored yearly  by America's Hometown Band musicians.        Don't miss out!

Son of Scarevania Haunted House will be open for a special one night only Christmas themed haunt on Saturday, December 15 from 7 pm to midnight. A Christmas Scarol is brought to you by Cornerstone Center for the Arts and Scarevania Haunted House with the purpose of collecting donations for the City of Muncie Animal Care and Services Department and Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

Monetary donations (benefiting Cornerstone), as well as donated items from the Muncie Animal Care’s wish list will serve as the admission fee to A Christmas Scarol at Son of Scarevania on Saturday, December 15. Donations of $5 cash benefit Cornerstone and items such canned adult and puppy dog food, flea and tick medication, dog shampoo, cat carriers, and cat litter will benefit the needs of the animal shelter.

A Christmas Scarol is not intended for young children. Son of Scarevania is located at 520 E. Main St. in Downtown Muncie at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. For more information about A Christmas Scarol visit cornerstonearts.org.

The roots of needlepoint go back thousands of years to the ancient Egyptians, who used small slanted stitches to sew up their canvas tents.  Archaeologst Howard Carter, who is known for discovering King Tut's tomb, found some needlepoint in the cave of a pharaoh who had lived around 15,000 BC.  Today, needlepoint offers a wide range of possibilities for self-expression.  In this class, you'll learn the techniques and stitches necessary to finish the project provided in class.  A painted canvas and supplies are provided.

You may register for one or both of these sessions: Pumpkin Project, Fri, Sept. 27, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 a.m.

Stitchers will complete a patchwork pumpkin that can be made into a pillow, quilted wall hanging, framed picture, or a placemat for a table.  As many as six different needlepoint stitches will be taught to complete this pumpkin, with the stitcher able to choose how many different stitches will be used.  This project is designed for the beginning needlepointer and comes with additional challenges for the experienced needlepointer. 

Christmas Tree Project, Fri., Oct. 25, 9:30a.m-12:30p.m.

Stitchers will complete a tiered Christmas tree with a variety of needlepoint stitches.  This project will lend itself to be finished as a pillow, quilted wall hanging, or framed picture.  It is designed for the beginning needlepointer and comes with additional challenged for the experienced needlepointer.

Can the star be explained as an exploding star, a comet or some other natural event in the sky? Potential natural explanations for the Star of Bethlehem and common modern-day misconceptions will be discussed.
