The Fall 2016 Muncie YART
5:00pm to 9:00pm @
Corner of Walnut & Charles Streets
Muncie, Indiana – YART is Coming!
YART is a Yard Sale for Art! YART began in Muncie, Indiana with students at Ball State University and continues in several U.S. cities! The Muncie YART is now held Downtown, twice a year, Spring and Fall, on the First Thursday of every May and October.
The Fall 2016 Muncie YART will be held in conjunction with the 2016 ArtsWalk, in the Old National Financial lot on the corner of Walnut and Charles Streets in Downtown Muncie, Indiana, on Thursday, October 6th, from 5-9pm.
This community art sale, with a goal of making art affordable and accessible to everyone, brings together artists and art patrons in a casual and unique setting.
All forms of art are welcome! Art of all kinds, by all kinds of artists! YART encourages interaction between artists and the community, hoping to make art more accessible, especially to those who think they cannot afford to buy art for themselves. To this goal, all YART art will be priced below $40!
Each YART Artist will be present throughout YART to meet the public, discuss their art, handle sales personally, and some artists will be making art LIVE at YART!
The Fall 2016 Muncie YART will feature a wide variety of jewelry, clothing, photography, oil/acrylic/watercolor paintings, fused glass, ceramics, knits, pottery, candles, toys, drawings, sculpture, lampwork glass, stuffed animals, digital art, mosaics, the The Bookish Princess, Midwest Writer's Workshop's Poems While You Wait, the Art Mart Mobile Demo Lab, LIVE ART and LIVE MUSIC, and so much more!
Fun for all ages - YART and the annual ArtsWalk are for the whole family!
Miss Moth and the YART Artists very much thank Cheryl Crowder of the Muncie Downtown Development Partnership and Old National Financial for their generous support! :) YART is an all-volunteer, no-budget, community event. THANK YOU!

Anarchist Baby Collective - First meeting
5:00pm to 12:42pm @
Heekin Park
Cabin #5
Feel free to distribute this flyer!
Anarchist Baby Collective (ABC) is a group of parents/caretakers with a mostly left-leaning bent that meets once a month in East Central Indiana (Anderson/Muncie area) to respectfully discuss politics, social justice issues, current events—and how these things intersect with parenting. We are not all (necessarily) anarchists - but how can you pass up an acronym that works out to ABC?
If you’re more right-leaning, you’re welcome to join us, just know you’ll probably be outnumbered.
Our first meeting is set to take place at Heekin Park in Muncie. We'll be in cabin #5 beginning at 5:00 PM, and we'll leave when people feel like they're ready to go - or when our kids start getting tired, whichever comes first. Our reservation is good until the park closes at 11 PM. We'll just need to make sure we clean up before we leave.
After this meeting, we'll likely start rotating between houses or other spaces for meetings, sometimes in Muncie, sometimes in Anderson. It just seemed right to have the first meeting on "neutral ground" like a park so that nobody felt awkward going to a stranger's house.
The game plan is to get to know one another, discuss how future meetings should play out, talk about whatever issues are on our mind, etc. Food and drink are welcome - just no alcohol. Park rules.
Kids of all ages are welcome at our meetings. They can play with one another, or even join in the conversation if they're so inclined.Jul 1, 2017
