The City of Muncie and America’s Hometown Band invite all local citizens to a Veterans Day Celebration event -- ONE MUNCIE FOR VETERANS -- on Tuesday, Nov 11, in the Muncie Central High School auditorium.  The musical portions of this event are performed by Muncie’s own America’s Hometown Band combined “side-by-side” with high school band students from Delaware County. 

The evening begins at 5:30 pm in the MCHS cafeteria with a complimentary spaghetti dinner for any veteran.  All others are encouraged to make a donation for their meal, with funds going to support local veteran activities.

At 7 pm, the Veterans Day honor program proceeds with patriotic music, the presentation of colors, and comments by Delaware County Veterans Officer Janet Davis; local veteran Joseph Orick; Muncie’s Mayor Dennis Tyler;  Rev. Colby Smith; and Michael Austin from Muncie Central High School. Emcee for the evening is Dale Basham. Sponsors for this program are City of Muncie, Muncie Exchange Club, Ball State University, and Muncie Central High School.

GOES IRISH AT VERA MAE'S BISTRO

AND YOU'RE INVITED  -- Special Irish dishes and special Irish tunes await diners on the 17th of March, 2015, at Vera Mae's Bistro in downtown Muncie, 209 S. Walnut St.  America's Hometown Band supplies the musicians in small ensembles to make the evening Irish, from 5:30 to 8 pm. Cover charge is $5.  Reservations needed. The Big Band contingent from America's Hometown Band presents its autumn concert from the stage of Pruis Hall auditorium at Ball State University at 7:00 pm, Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015. Jazz Baritone Saxophonist Larry Dickson is the evening’s special Guest Performer. Tickets are $5.00 at the door, with open seating. Free parking at the nearby Emens parking structure. The superb instrumentalists of the AHB Big Band are under the leadership of co-directors Will Frazier and Phil Cooley.

ON STAGE AT BSU’s EMENS AUDITORIUM on SUNDAY, DEC. 6 at 6:30 pm — bring the family to enjoy the sparkling bright concert band and jazz band sounds of Christmas from the very talented musicians of America’s Hometown Band.  

 In addition to the bands’ numbers, musical guests for the evening include:   Cardinal Marimba Quartet;  Royerton Elementary School Choir ;  George Wolfe Saxophone Quartet ;  Note to Self and Ladies Choice, men’s a cappella singing groups ; David Robbins , xylophone soloist;  Guistino Carrano and Diana Guinn, vocal soloists.

Parking is free at both the Sursa and Emens parking structures.

Celebrates Great Beginnings!  

Enjoy a luscious program of famous musical Preludes & Introductions presented by America’s Hometown Band to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the formation of the AHB, under the direction of Roger McConnell.  Join the band at Emens on Sunday afternoon on Feb. 21st, 4:30 pm.

Featured solo performers are saxophonist George Wolfe (Porgy & Bess Medley by George Gershwin), and pianist Phillip Cooley (Cordoba by Julie Giroux).

Irish tunes by musicians from AMERICA’S HOMETOWN BAND serve up the entertainment for the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Vera Mae’s Bistro, 209 S. Walnut St., in downtown Muncie, on Thursday evening, March 17, 2016.  

From 5:30 to 8 pm -- the AHB Clarinet Choir, the AHB Flute Choir, and Bill Morton’s Irish Band set the mood as they take turns playing traditional melodies from the Emerald Isle. Xylophonist David Robbins performs Irish Washerwoman. And from 8 pm on, jazz keyboardist Phil Cooley, a co-director of the AHB, closes out the evening’s musical fare.

Beech Grove Cemetery again hosts the annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony to honor all past and present American service personnel. All music for the ceremony, including Taps, is performed live by America's Hometown Band.

The public is invited to attend the 11 AM ceremony and take a few moments to remember and appreciate the services and lives committed to keeping America free since the birth of the nation, both locally and nationally.

Cemetery officials, plus Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler and local military organization representatives, are to be the speakers in the program.

Muncie's Westview Elementary School Choir is a special guest at the 2016 Hometown Family Christmas Concert at Emens Auditorium. 

This 'Holiday spirit tune-up'  is presented by America's Hometown Band, its concert band, jazz band, soloists, and woodwind choirs. Come celebrate the sounds of the season and support the fine musicians of Muncie's municipal band, who enrich our community with many free outdoor concerts throughout the summer.

Enjoy this swing & jazz concert by the Big Band musicians from America's Hometown Band, at the BSU Arts Terrace on the quad. Guest artists are trombonist Freddie Mendoza & vocalist Myles Ogea. 

FREE public concert being played by two woodwind choirs from America's Hometown Band - the Central Indiana Flute Choir, and the Clarinet Connection Choir, each with a separate program of musical pieces.  

Come enjoy the lovely, lively sounds of these groups, and check out the widely varied sizes of instruments that suppy the choir voice high to low. A reception follows the concert on-site.
