Create unique holiday ornaments in this two hour workshop. Each student will use a variety of different mediums to make their own personalized holiday decorations!

The workshop will meet at Cornerstone Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The workshop is open to students ages 4 to fifth grade. The cost to attend the workshop is just $21 and includes supplies.

Join Cornerstone staff and students as we celebrate another exciting fall session! On Sunday, December 14, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Cornerstone students will show off what they have learned in their classes this fall. Celebration will include: dance performances, a student art gallery, youth drama performance, private lesson recital, crafts, light refreshments, and a special visit from Santa!  

The event is free and open to the public and is a great opportunity to learn more about the classes offered through the Cornerstone Arts Program. Information and registration for Spring 2015 classes will be available.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts instructor and 2nd degree black belt, Eric Sanner, will lead the demonstration. The demonstration will teach how to defend yourself and your family from attacks with guns, knives, sticks, strength, and strike. Blocks, holds, joint leverage and strikes will be taught to subdue instructors. Size or strength is no factor in the ability of the participant. This workshop will be a fun, informative way to learn about self defense. This workshop is designed for women only.

Children ages 6 - 13 will enjoy yummy pastries while painting their very own masterpiece. This workshop is all about having fun!

Adults are welcome to join the workshop and paint alongside their child. An additional registration and registration fee is required. No registration is needed for those who only want to observe the painting fun.

An adult must stay with a child who is 8 years old or younger. No additional registration or fee required.

The World of Women: Mapping Women’s History will present maps from the Ball State University Libraries’ GIS Research and Map Collection depicting major events and figures in women’s history and current economic, educational, and social issues facing women around the world. This one time workshop is free and open to the public.

Learn to paint over a cup of morning coffee. If you have never had an art lesson but always wanted to create a masterpiece this workshop is for you! In a relaxed atmosphere, you will be guided step by step to create a painting based on the work of a famous artist. This “beginner’s only” class will be fun and supportive.

Join Cornerstone Center for Arts for First Thursday on April 2, 2015, for an opening reception and art show featuring the art of Leon and Aidan Crosby. The show entitled “Asian Infusion” is an exploration into art forms originating in traditional East Asian culture infused with a modern perspective.

Leon and Aidan, a father son duo, are excited to share their individual and collaborative efforts for the first time together. The collection includes mixed media paintings featuring modern influences such as graffiti and pop art utilizing unconventional styling.

The opening reception will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cornerstone Art Gallery on the second floor of Cornerstone Center for the Arts. The show will be on display throughout the month of April.

Spring flowers are about to bloom! In this workshop, we will needle felt our own bouquet of colorful flowers with dyed wool. Students will leave with at least one felted flower with stem.

Ages: Ages 2nd Grade - Adult

Cornerstone will partner with Cardinal Ballroom to host the first Cardinal Dance Showcase & Fundraiser. Cardinal Ballroom is an organization on Ball State's campus that provides dance instruction to students, staff and alumni at Ball State.

The Showcase & Fundraiser will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the Colonnade Room on the first floor at Cornerstone. Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to announce the 29th Annual A Taste of Muncie, “A Taste for the Arts,” on Sunday April 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. with "Silver Ticket" guests gaining early access at 1 p.m. A Taste of Muncie is presented by PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union with support from 104.1 WLBC, 104.9 WERK FM, 93.5 MAX Radio, 96.7 Blake FM, Fox Sports Radio, 1240 AM/ 103.7 WHBU Talk Radio, The Fickle Peach, Savage’s Ale House, The Star Press, Johnny Carino’s, and Vera Mae’s Bistro.

This annual fundraiser features cuisine from several of the finest restaurants and vendors in the area. Attendees are invited to sample items and vote on “The Best of Taste” in various categories. All proceeds from the event benefit Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ arts programs and events.

This year’s "Silver Ticket" will feature craft beer tastings from The Fickle Peach and delicious food pairings from Vera Mae’s Bistro. Silver Ticket-holders will enjoy early access to vendors, private entertainment, and reserved seating. Silver Tickets cost $40 per person and are available in advance only until Wednesday, April 15. Silver Tickets are available for attendees 21 and up only.

Advanced tickets are $20 for adults or $15 for students with ID. Tickets at the door are $25 for adults and $20 for students. Children, ages five and under, are free. PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union members may purchase discount general admission tickets for just $15 at the Bethel Avenue location.

Tickets may be purchased online, by phone at 765-289-8687, and at Cornerstone Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, April 17.

Guests will have the opportunity to bid on and win one of many fantastic prizes in a silent auction. Door prizes will also be given away throughout the day. Prizes include items from King’s Island, Muncie Civic Theatre, Sky Zone, Muncie Children’s Museum, Holiday World Splashin’ Safari, AMC Theatres, and more!

The fun continues after the event with a new, exclusive “After Taste” Party at The Fickle Peach. The party starts at 4:00 pm and is free.

Hoosier Cartography will feature maps of events and people in Indiana’s rich history, including custom maps created by the GIS Research and Map Collection covering the state’s history in politics, literature, sports, crime, and entertainment. This class is ideal for teachers of fourth-grade Indiana history as it will provide links to digital resources for teachers or other researchers. This one time workshop is free and open to the public.
