Are you interested in having a better understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Do you want to know how to engage PTSD-diagnosed individuals in your community? The Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center (NEI-AHEC) presents a special presentation:
Responding to PTSD - Healing Our Community.
Silouan Green is a speaker and writer on PTSD. Fueled by his own recovery from severe PTSD after a tragic jet crash while serving as a US Marine, he works tirelessly to help others find hope and purpose for their lives. Silouan is the author of books such as Who Am I? and Sycamore Hill. He also created The Ladder UPP program for learning to live with passion and purpose.
There will be a short meet and greet session at 7:00 PM prior to the presentation.
This event is for anyone who:
Is interested in better understanding PTSD and how it developsWants to learn how to engage those suffering in their communities
Wants to create an atmosphere of anti-stigma and empathy for those suffering with PTSD

The Addictions Coalition of Delaware County and the Ball State University Center for Substance Use Research and Community Initiatives, present the Delaware County Symposium on Substance Use Disorders.
The following sessions will be available:
Morning Session (9:00 am to 12:00 pm)

The morning session will include several talks discussing the the state of substance use prevention, treatment and recovery in Delaware County.
- Welcome by Deputy Mayor Richard Ivy, City of Muncie
- “Addiction: Progress and Challenges in Delaware County” by Tersea Long, Executive Director of Hope Chest
- Keynote address by Tony Toomer, Opioid Program Treatment Manager, Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction
The morning keynote will be followed by a selection of break-out sessions.

The lunch will be provided free-of-cost thanks to the very generous support of the Delaware County Trauma-Informed Recovery-Oriented System of Care Team, funded by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. A resource fair on recovery- and treatment-related services will be provided concurrently. The afternoon session will highlight a personal story of addiction and recovery as well as another keynote address. The Addictions Coalition of Delaware County will provide updates on a host of projects initiated in the past year. Finally, residents in Industry, Thomas Park/Avondale and Southside neighborhoods will speak about addiction, health, and navigating health services in a guided town hall panel discussion.

iFest is a celebration of our international students' cultures. On the second floor of the student center, participants will be able to sample snacks from around the globe, including a variety of insects, and they’ll learn from our international students and our students who have studied abroad about various cultures and countries. Additionally, we will have two separate rounds of international trivia. The first round will begin at 5:15 pm, and the second round will begin at 6:10 pm. Trivia will take place in the Student Center Ballroom. There will be one winning team for each round, and they will receive a prize!
