Women's & Gender Studies students will be presenting their capstone projects exploring their ideal careers and the women who have them.

Author of the New York Times best seller “Bad Feminist,” Roxane Gay, will be speaking about her experiences writing the award winning book, blogging, & editing.

Authors who have just published their first books and editors from small press or literary journals will give readings, talking about their experiences getting published, & will work with Ball State students.

This mixture of presentation and discussion will explore questions of how to include women of size within the current women’s movement, how issues of body image and fat-phobia affect women across the spectrum of sizes, and how a fat identity intersects with other identity markers.

Drawing from her recent study of the nation's minority serving institutions, Professor Gasman will discuss how all institutions can ensure that students will receive the best learning experience.
