Dr. Philip Raisor, professor emeritus of English at Old Dominion University, will give a poetry reading from his latest book, Swimming in the Shallow End (Word Tech, 2012) on Wednesday, April 10, at 3:30 p.m. in the Burkhardt Building, room 109, and at 7 p.m. at Minnetrista. Phil is a former Munsonian who has written several works of nonfiction, poetry, and literary criticism. His reading is co-sponsored by the Center for Middletown Studies and the English Department. Copies of his book, Swimming in the Shallow End, will be available for purchase at both events.

68th Annual Chamber Music Festival: Concert I

This summer, the festival features School of Music faculty chamber ensembles in two concerts.The first concert will be held at the Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie, IN on May 22 at 11 a.m. The second concert will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Muncie, IN on June 1 at 3 p.m. Concerts are free and open to the public.

National recording artist Dar Williams will be performing a FREE concert at Minnetrista on Friday, June 13th as part of the Muncie Three Trails Music Series. The New Yorker magazine says, "Dar Williams is one of America's very best singer-songwriters. Her songs are beautiful. Somer are like finely crafted short stoeis. They are, variously, devastatingly moving, tenderly funny, subtle without being in any way inaccessible, and utterly fresh - not a cliche or a clunker in her entire songbook."

Kids can read to a shelter pet, sculpt a clay bat or butterfly, create an upcycled herb planter, and add a piece to a community bottle cap mural.
