In December Gallery 308 will bring to the gallery an amalgamation of expression. In the main Gallery Ball Sate Senior Students will exhibit featuring: the painting of Neal Soley; Drawings and prints by Andrew McCauley; Prints and paintings by Terry Flores; Sculpture and metalwork by Rachael Jobst; and, the designs of John Carroll. The Founders Gallery will feature Twila Beahm and Jessie Creselious. Each of Twila Beahm’s Faerie Houses is one of a kind and hand crafted of natural materials and found Objects. Jessie Creselious will present his recent work of polymer clay Faerie sculptures. His colorful and unique sculptures range in size from 2.5 inches to 7 inches tall.

A reception for the Annual Print Show will be held First Thursday, February 2^nd,  2012, at the downtown gallery. Works by BSU professors Sarojini and Dave Johnson, select printmaking students, as well as Tom Minkler will be on display. The artists will be on hand to answer questions or to discuss techniques. The public is encouraged to attend, and light refreshments will be served. 

Artist Pat Steir, represented in "Recent Acquisitions: Modern and Contemporary Prints" will talk about the ideas and work represented via video conference with BSU assistant professor of art history Dr. Natalie Phillips.

“Art is not about pure representation but about our perception of reality. My work is a study on how we perceive place, through a combination of geometric patterns and colors.” So begins the artist’s statement of Michele Chiuini for his new body of work depicting architectural structures – stairs, doorways, windows – in colorful geometric arrangements. From the artist's personal imagination, then, come images that resonate with others, based on their own personal experiences of house, shelter, structure.

An opening reception for the artist will be held First Thursday, April 5th , 2012, from 5 to 8 PM at the downtown gallery. The public is encouraged to attend, and light refreshments will be served. The other downtown galleries will also be hosting free exhibits.
