Three of the most original instrumentalists to ever migrate out of the classical gene pool join forces to breathe new life into the time-honored piano trio tradition. In a sequel performance, The Acting Company presents Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. The play is structured as the inverse of Hamlet; the title characters are the leads, not supporting players, and Hamlet himself has only a small part. The duo appears on stage in this play when they are off-stage in Shakespeare's play.

Mastering modern traditional bluegrass, The Boxcars exhibit their versatile talent as a band and as individuals. The members have numerous IBMA and Grammy Awards along with having shared the stage with most of the top names in bluegrass. As a group, they have earned two consecutive IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year awards.

"Starting in 1992 I partnered with my wife, Vicki, and a group of dedicated artists, actors and musicians to create a performance space that would help revive Muncie's downtown, which at that time was full of abandoned buildings. In October 2012, I sold the building to the saloon next door. In the end, "Doc's" (as most people came to know it) offered a steady stream of enthusiastic visitors a meeting place for their love of the arts, for community activism, and for experiencing the unifying force of live musical performance." - Doc Peterson

This documentary film is being created to resurrect the hard work and dedication of those who made it last more than 20 years, starting at 7:00pm in the mainstage theatre. Tickets are $5 at the door, General Admission seating.

20 storytellers. 20 writers. 20 actors. One night to celebrate the stories of those who have had the courage to face depression. 

Join us for the Facing Depression in East Central Indiana Monologues and Book Launch. Admission is FREE, and attendees will receive a copy of the book (donations are welcomed). The night will include theatrical readings from the book as well as a showing of a short documentary about how this project was put together.

Facing Depression in East Central Indiana is an affiliate of The Facing Project, a national organization that connects people through stories to strengthen communities. Founded in Muncie, Indiana, in 2012, The Facing Project has led three other projects in Muncie that debuted at Muncie Civic Theatre: Facing Poverty in Delaware County (2012), Facing Autism in Muncie (2013), and Facing Disabilities in East Central Indiana (2014).
