Volunteer in a Nice Warm Tropical Environment

The Dr. Joe and Alice Rinard Orchid Greenhouse at Ball State University is looking for volunteers. Volunteer duties take a variety of forms and provide lots of flexibility for those who cannot commit to a regular schedule. We need volunteers to serve as greeters, tour guides (docents), plant care providers, educators for special programs, and assist with our three special events each year. Training is provided. For those interested the next training is set for Saturday, February 11, from 10:00 a.m.-noon. Training is held at the Orchid Greenhouse, 2500 W. It's that time of year again. Following the success of the 10th annual Muncie MusicFest in 2016, we're once again assembling the team that will be in charge of the 11th year of the festival.

Join us at Two Cats Cafe (upstairs, by the bar) to learn about Muncie MusicFest and the opportunities to contribute to it, from offering minor promotional assistance to serving as the general manager of the entire festival.

Classic cars - good food - live music - fun for all ages!

- games and activities for kids (Touch-A-Truck, pumpkins and bounce houses to name a few!)
- arts experience with Cornerstone Center for the Arts
- Beer & Wine Garden for those 21+

If you like to volunteer and give time to the Muncie community,

time banking is a way to get something back in exchange for your time and effort.

When a MTB member provides an hour of service for another time bank member he/she logs that time and then gets an hour back in the form of another service!

Muncie is filled with folks with countless skills. In a time bank everyone’s work is valued and everyone’s time is valued equally.

We are so excited to announce that the newly renovated Muncie Civic Theater has offered to host this special event! You will be amazed at the preservation and restorative efforts from top to bottom! Tours of the building will be given to those interested.

You will also get a chance to hear firsthand about all the ways time bankers can help this iconic community gem! As they say, “You don’t have to be a performer to play a starring role at Muncie Civic”!

The 2nd annual A Midsummer Night’s Narrative Storytelling Festival will feature 8 storytelling teams that will each share local stories of unity. Actors from Muncie Civic Theatre will bring the stories to life on stage at MadJax. The festival will include a Writers Fair where writers will chat on select topics, read from their work, and sell their books. Facing Project cofounder Kelsey Timmerman’s new book WHERE AM I GIVING? will also be available at the event.

·      - 7 to 8:30 PM Main Event—A Midsummer Night's Narrative, Stories of Unity:

Eight stories of unity from local celebrity storytelling teams will be performed by actors from Muncie Civic Theatre.
